[ He better not say a fucking word or make a fucking noise.

Ao makes sure he is silent, and it's seriously risky to go for the front door but he doesn't know the layout of the entire place so he has no idea if there's a backdoor. He thinks there is one, but he has never seen it, and there could be people inside by it. ]

[legallyblinde]

[ Akane lets himself be led anywhere Ao wants him to go, hand pressed over his mouth to make sure he keeps quiet. ]

[youngblue]

[ It goes way too slowly for them, Ao thinks. It’s mainly his fault, too, because his legs has not been used for so long.

When they’re just a meter or two from the front door, there’s the sound of a door opening and voices from the other end of the shop, and Ao pulls at Akane’s arm, trying to move faster across the room, so they can reach the front door before they’re noticed. ]

[ He stumbles after him, and isn't exactly as quiet as Ao might want him to be. It's kind of difficult to be so when you're moving in ways you're not used to. ]

[youngblue]

[ Fuck fuck fuck-- Fuck this loud guy and fuck those people that's been keeping him locked up for so long.

The voices are louder and there's a shout just as he puts his hand on the doorknob. Yep, they've been noticed. ]

[ Akane jumps as he hears that shout, and his wings press tighter toward his body, if such a thing was even possible. ]

[youngblue]

[ Please let the door be unlocked---he pulled at the door, but it was locked and he swore. Out loud this time, it didn't matter if he was quiet now anyway. He fumbled with the lock. How the hell do you work locks, fuck. ]

You- you can't unlock it from the inside? [ He had heard the sound of Ao jiggling the door handle. Shouldn't there be something to just flip or twist on the inside? ]

[youngblue]

[ He hated locks that you needed a key to open. But his "owner" apparently loved them. ] Fucker's got the key. [ At least he's practiced kicking, when he's tried to kick open the door to the cage. It was a completely different angle of course but with a hand on Akane's shoulder he was able to send a kick at the door. Something jolted and there was a weak sound of wood cracking. Not good enough, though, and he has to kick again. He glares darkly at the people making their way through the room that's full of stuff for sale. ]

[ Fu-fucker? He doesn't point out how bad of a word that is, as there's currently more important things going on and... he can hear people coming now, and he shivers in fear, praying that Ao will get the door open. ]

[youngblue]

[ He kicks the door again, and there is another crack of wood, but it's not enough. He looks over at the charging people as he takes a step back. They're way too close for his liking. And he shoves his shoulder hard into the door. Finally the damn door gives in. ]

[ Akane gasps, worried both about Ao hurting himself when he gets the door open, and over how close the people are. But then the doo is open, and they can finally get moving again. They're hit with the cold night air. ]

[ It’s so weird being out in the fresh air, it’s been a long time and it’s freezing (it probably isn't but it feels like it is to him) and he can’t help the tears that falls down his cheeks and makes his eyes burn.

Running feels so good but also so painful. But they need to get away and can’t stop now. He would fly but he has not used his wings in so long either, he couldn’t carry his own weight as is. ]

[ Ao wasn't the only one who hasn't used his wings in a long time. Due to the fear of getting him locked up or taken away from his family if the wrong people found out, they were always tied down. It made him horrible at many things, as it restricted his breathing.

But it felt a bit better now that they were in the fresh air, even though he was gasping pretty soon. Maybe... maybe they could lose them somehow? And he could take Ao home with him only after they knew they wouldn't be followed there. ]

Need to... lose... th-them...

[ As if he doesn't know that..!

If they don't lose them they can't stop running but they can't run forever and he's in no shape to be running in the first place. If it had been before he was caught then sure but now it wasn't a good thing. ]

I don't... know the way... around here...

[ Oh god... maybe, maybe there was a public restroom somewhere...

Ah, there was! He actually managed to lead Ao there, taking an extra lap around it to make sure the ones chasing them wouldn't get it right away. At least he hoped so. He locked them into a stall, and stood up on the toilet seat. ]

Y-y-you too...

[ They couldn't be visible from outside the stalls. ]

[ This is new... He has never been in a public restroom before, since you had to pay for the ones around where he had lived before getting captured.

He gets the point of standing on the toilet though. His bare feet hurts and his legs hurts and his lungs hurts and he has to hold onto the other boy so as to not fall over. ]

[ Akane is scared in the middle of all this, and he has to hold on to the wall with one arm to steady himself, and the other is over his mouth to make sure his breathing isn't too loud. ]

[youngblue]

[ Physical contact is so horrible, too. The fear of being found isn't helping.

But eventually the door to the door to the public restroom opens with a bang and Ao buries his face against Akane's chest to hide his breath. He can't do as the other boy and cover it with his hand, they're too occupied to stay steady. ]

[ Akane's own eyes squeeze shut as the door opens. He can't watch this, it's too nerve wracking. What if he sees shadows by their stall and he gasps? No, he'll just wait for them to either get caught or for the door to close again.

Shit, he should have found a note saying 'out of order', or, or something, then they might not find it as strange that the door was locked.

One by one,, he hears someone open the door to each stall. ]

[ What the hell were they supposed to do? Ao had no idea, at least. They couldn't hide behind the stall door and the top and the bottom were both too close to the ceiling to be able to squeeze through to climb into a stall they had already checked--plus he was pretty sure that this guy was just as good as he was at climbing; not at all, that was. Maybe before he had been caught, bot not now. But at least that meant that the people looking for them couldn't see inside the stalls, either. ]

[ Just as they get to the one next to them something good finally happens.

The door to the one next to them is locked. They become convinced that both of them are in there and start to slam their hands on the door, until a very angry man who was minding his own business (and sounds like a proper yakuza) starts yelling at them to get the fuck out of there before he calls his entire gang over.

Akane's eyes go wide in surprise and he stares down at Ao. They're gone, for now, but they should still wait for the yakuza to leave. ]

[ That’s amazing and really good. Ao is glad that they didn’t stick around, though if they had tried to explain it might not have gone down well for the people from the shop. Or it might have, you never know with people when it comes to rare “things”.

His head droops and his shoulders sag in relief and his arms loosen around Akane for a moment, but when he almost falls his grip tightens again.

Sometimes you gotta be grateful that there always are more dangerous people around. ]

[ It feels like his heart is going to stop when he feels Ao slip, but he can almost breathe again when the boy manages to stay where he is and not make a sound.

Several minutes pass, but finally the yakuza gets out of the stall.

Ew, he didn't wash his hands? Akane immediately feels like he needs to wash his own. ]

[ What does it matter that he didn’t wash, at least that meant that he left that much sooner. And once he was out of the building and they’re certain that him or they won’t come back, he slips down and slumps against the floor of the stall they’re in with a sigh of relief as all the tension that’s been in him for the past couple years lets go of him. At least for now, for a little while, he doesn’t have to be stuck in that damn cage. ]
